University of Pennsylvania researcher Dr. Karen Sorenmo has a unique project: she and her colleagues are studying shelter dogs to learn more about breast cancer. This mammary tumor research can teach scientists more about breast cancer in dogs and humans. Plus, many of the shelter dogs in the project go on to find new homes!
